Valeria Perez is a junior at St. Mary’s University majoring in Digital Marketing. She has a passion for entrepreneurship, travel, graphic design and media which have led her to participate in internships both in the United States and Mexico.
Perez had the opportunity to intern at startup incubator, VelocityTX, during her freshman and sophomore years. At VelocityTX, Perez was part of the team in charge of preparing, organizing, and running the Global Accelerator Program (GAP) and the International Bootcamp where companies from Latin America came to San Antonio, Texas, to learn how to conduct business in the United States. She was also part of the marketing team in charge of designing the website for the GAP program.
Due to her upbringing in the border town of El Paso, Texas, Perez was able to intern at Madise Electronics, an engineering company in charge of designing equipment and machinery for Mexican factories. Throughout her time there, Perez gained firsthand experience on the uses of marketing within the engineering world.

During her junior year Perez participated in a media course in which she gained experience with Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator. You can see the different projects under the “Generation Success” and “Projects” tab.
Generation Success is a series with the goal of defining what is each individual’s definition of success. How has the definition changed? Is success up to luck or hard work?
Other projects revolve around telling people’s stories whether it is through recipes or interviews. Perez captures different stories and even delves into the world of radio announcing.
